Metal Heads

What are metal heads?
Metal Heads began back in 1960 – 1970’s as one of the most commercially successful forms of aggressive Rock and Roll. Metal heads are often called ‘head-banger’ and they listen to heavy metal music. They are often described as drunkards, fighter and satanic people because of their appearance and behavior. Metal Heads often wear band t-shirts and black attire. It is not really about what they were but it is more of a visual expression of the attitude they feel. This group of people are strongly opinionated about a wide range of subjects, like what differentiates them from trash-metal to what makes heavy metal music ‘TRUE METAL.

What inspired the subculture?
Music highly inspired this subculture with artists such as Metallica, Led Zeppelin and Guns N’ Roses.

Artists like Jimi Hendrix, Aero Smith, Black Sabbath , The Who, and Alice Cooper fused heavy guitars with blues based rock 'n roll and began to put on outrageous live performances and that was the start of Heavy metal which lead to Metal Heads.

They are various genres of Heavy metal such as classical metal, death metal, black metal, grind core, trash metal, symphonic metal, folk metal, industrial metal, power metal, etc.
